Boetchers Mill
Oil on Canvas
This was the veiw from my yard in Huntsville, Texas when I was in art school.
I rented a shack on the edge of town. It was heaven to me.
This was the oldest sawmill in Texas. They tore it down right after this painting was completed. As a sophomore art student this painting took 5th place in the Kuntz Nelson Art Award of Excellence Competition.
I have had other honors and awards in my life, but this was the first major recognition I ever recieved.
The painting has many flaws, but was a turning point for me as an artist.
